Historical Marine Fire and Safety Specialists relocate to grow business
November 18, 2009
Hull based marine fire and safety specialists Castle and Company have recently moved from their St. Andrews Quay offices to newer, larger premises on Hawthorne Avenue in order to meet rising demand for their services.
Castle & Co were formed at the end of the 19th century as nautical instrument makers and compass adjusters. It offers a similar service today, calibrating ship equipment including pressure gauges and thermometers. In addition to this, the company specialises in the service and supply of marine safety and pyrotechnic equipment, providing fire extinguishers, fixed fire fighting systems and CO2 systems, as well as life jackets.
Frank Fisher, Manager of Castle and Co explains the purpose of the move:
Over the last century, Castle & Co has worked with many of the big players in local shipping. During that time we have developed our services to meet the changing needs of the industry and have built a reputation of offering a quality, cost effective service.
We were starting to outgrow our St. Andrews Quay premises which had served us well for 25 years. However, with the area now in need of redevelopment, we felt that a move would be beneficial. Our new premises will allow us to offer our services to an even larger client base and expand to meet future developments in shipping.
Castle & Co is a part of ACS&T Logistics, the UK’s leading provider of frozen-food transport and storage. Castle & Co’s current customer base includes P&O Ferries, Rix Shipping, Whittakers Tankers, and it specialises in work at the Immingham oil terminal, servicing large oil tankers.
